National Church Burning Working Group
Networking and Collaboration
Who We Are: In 2000, NCBC established the National Church Burning Working Group as a multi-racial, interfaith network of friends and allies committed to addressing the root causes of this problem for years to come.
Our Commitment-Through the efforts of the Working Group we are committed to promoting and supporting conversations that encourage victims, survivors and local leaders to self define problems of church burning and bombing as they see them and raise neglected critical issues. The Working Group uses the practice of Storytelling and open dialogue as a creative technique for community problem solving.
Committees: The Working Group accomplishes its objectives through the work of six committees: Fundraising, Victims Support, Church Rebuilding and Volunteer Coordination, Public Policy Advocacy, Media and Public Safety. The NCBWG works aggressively to raise financial, volunteer and material resources to assist churches in rebuilding each year.
The project welcomes victims and survivors of church burnings and bombings, local groups and churches, religious and ecumenical bodies, civil and human rights organizations, governmental agencies, policymakers, colleges and universities, students, media, and businesses representatives. Meeting time and location: The Working Group meets annually the 2nd week in December.
